Towns in Ibiza

Cala Llonga

Once you have decided that you are going to holiday in Ibiza, you must then decide which town in Ibiza you are going to stay in or near. The beauty of Ibiza is that there are so many different places to stay. Do you stay near a town or beach or maybe up in the campo (countryside). Whatever you may choose, you should be well informed about your local surroundings.
If you are a family with young children, then you are not going to want to stay next to one of the many clubs Ibiza has. Likewise, if you are looking for a relaxed but vibrant Ibiza holiday then you are not going to want to be stuck up in the north of the island where a taxi may cost you more than the entry to the club! Whatever it is that you want you may want to refer back to this page. Click the Control and N key simultaneously on your keyboard to pop up a copy of this window so that you can refer back to it at any time.

Ibiza Airport

Located about 5 km from Ibiza Town. Car pick up and drop off can be arranged from here using one of the rent-a-car companies provided.

Cala Llonga

Lovely beach resort on the East coast of Ibiza. Vast chrystal clear watered beach slightly spoiled by three hotels on either side of the bay. This is more than compensated for by the plethora of restaurants and quiet yet buzzing bars in the area. Definately the spot to go if you have teenage kids.

Cala San Vicente

Situated in the North East of the island, this is the ideal location for the perfect beach holiday with probably 8 of the top 10 beaches within a 10 minute drive. Only down side is that you are pretty much restricted to this area as the nearest town is Santa Eulalia which is a 15 minute drive away. Not ideal for going out and having a glass of sangria or two. Having said this, the beach area does have 4 or 5 charming restaurants all overlooking the sea.

Cala Tarida

Es Cana

Sometimes dubbed the new San Antonio. This has become a popular family resort but really has very little to offer

Ibiza Town

FUN! What more can you say. If shopping, nightlife, bars, nightclubs or people watching is your thing then this is the place to be. By no means is it restricted to this though with Talamanca beach a short walk away and hourly boat trips to Formentera. Ideal location if you want a mixture of relaxation and nightlife. With it being the capital of Ibiza, it is also where the majority of the leading eateries are.

San Antonio

Much maligned area of the island. Located on the West coast, it's beauty is often overshadowed by the raucous behaviour that goes on in the West End. If you can avoid this area during your holiday, then you will fall in love with the place. There are only 3 major places on the island that have a significant amount of ex pats. San Antonio is one of them! Beautiful restaurants, bars, country side and some stunning beaches a short distance away

San Carlos
San Carlos

Community that was built around a Church. Anyone who visited Ibiza 20 years ago will have noticed the changes. One of the rare exceptions to this is San Carlos with its laid back lifestyle and almost hippyish ways, it is relaxation personified. This is where most of the artists on the island live. They must get their inspiration from something! Turn right at the Church, and you have 4 beautiful yet secluded beaches within a 5 minute drive. Turn left and you have 5 more of equal beauty

Santa Eulalia Santa Eulalia

The perfect holiday retreat. Whether you are 8 years old or 88, this town has something to offer you. A typical day could involve a coffee at the Royalty bar to watch the people go by. Followed by a bite to eat in one of the local tapas bars before heading on to one of the 11 beaches only a short distance away to top up your tan. Your evening meal consists of Paella for 8 at Ca Na Ribas before you head down to one of the many British bars, swiftly followed by a brisk walk along the port to view the multi-million pound boats, and finally for those who have the stamina a late night beverage with Alex the owner of Guarana.
